I'm tempted to say that since she's a Christian, she's too good morally to swim in the dark, murky political swamp of DC. However, there were godly people in the bible who were very much involved in the politics of their day, so I dare not go that far.

You're wrong as usual! I have often said that there are undoubtedly true believers in the RCC -- in spite of the church's many heretical teachings. What I have no use for are those teachings -- doctrines which would naturally tend to do more spiritual harm than good.

I suspect she's a true believer because she lamented the death of Ravi Zecharias, a very gifted and famous evangelical theologian, apologist, speaker and author who she claimed played a big part in her faith (possibly in her coming to faith!). Most unbelievers (including those in the RCC) would want nothing to do with Ravi's evangelical theology.
