Wow, that's interesting but I wonder if they'll be able to get enough horses. Almost every horse in the country is stabled in the Northeast or Ohio/Indiana.

The north side of the Ellis main track is less than 100 yards from Indiana
I don’t see Saratoga Harness opening up a new harness oval there for two reasons:
1) They are primarily a casino company now. Heck they even renamed their own track Saratoga Casino Hotel, taking racing out of the equasion altogether. They do perform local marketing for their races though, but harness racing is almost a dead game.
2) Its a long-term wager for them that casinos will arrive in Kentucky.
That’s my two lousy cents though, but indeed it is good news when companies invest in racing.
