oil is getting toasted and roasted now. wholesale unleaded is $1.34 today, gas should be going below $2 soon at the pump.

i went to Costco today, there was a 20 minute line to check out. the gas was going for $2.25 a gallon for reg unleaded.
i live in Boston, the place is packed with people that are coming from all over the world. some come for the schools, others come for expensive surgery's and doctor's visits. i met a father and his son that came from the United Arab Emirate. his kid had a surgery to take a tumor out of his brain. the doctor's in the middle east wouldn't do the surgery. the Emerite government paid $1 million for this kids surgery. he has been in Boston now 2 months.

The US economy could be slowing (it is), or even headed into a recession (can't rule out - so late in cycle), and we could still have a great Christmas-selling season.
If oil falls another $10, Trump should ask the Saudis to CURB production, as we'll start to have a redo of 2014/15 (i.e., destruction of oil field srvs and energy-linked industrial jobs).

Market disliked the Fed statement and hated Powell's answer about backing off reverse QE (i.e., balance sheet reductions). As noted a few weeks ago, Fed funds have increased approx. 550 bps on a QE-adjusted basis (using Atlanta Fed framework on the QE-adjusted metric) from the 2014 bottom. That's a decent-size move. We'll see.

S+P hit support and bounced off it, now going to crack the support again. 100 s+p point spread for the day so far.
this is a market and a half if you like action.

2 things really bother me about this market, the financials and the transports. i saw my Fedex driver today and he told me is a lot slower this year than last year. but that might have been because of Amazon Prime.

FexdEx comments on Europe were horrible. Agree 100% on putrid financials performance.
