Parx Handicapping Picks

Today John Pricci, provides his analysis on how to win the 123racing Pick6 contest wager at Parx.

John Pricci has been a racetracker for more than four decades. In 1977 he joined Long Island Newsday where he was an award-winning columnist and lead handicapper for 19 years. During that span he made the pilot program with the inimitable Harvey Pack that would become racing's first nightly recap show, “Thoroughbred Action.” John also helped develop the sport's first regularly scheduled "Road to the Triple Crown" series on television the weekly “Inside Racing” magazine program. Since 2007, John has been the Executive Editor of HorseRaceInsider.com and his daily analysis of the feature race from America’s major racetracks has shown a profit ever since its inception until present day with his selection of Street Sense to win the 1977 Kentucky Derby. During the Saratoga racing season, John is the Thoroughbred Analyst for WNYT-TV CH.13 and for WOFX-980 a.m. in New York’s Capital District.

FOURTH: 3-GUARD THE ROCK (4-1) drops in second start for LeBarron in second start off the claim (26% efficient) following dull try when overmatched; fits dynamics nicely and switches to Pennington. 1-JOINT DECISION (3-1) has developed nicely this fall, earning competitive Energy Ratings, now drops in with restricted claimers.4-Grey Gator (12-1) will be running late for a share.

FIFTH: 3-JAR OF HEARTS (4-1) ships in for Hamilton Smith while dropping into maiden claimer, both profitable scenarios for this outfit, and also turns back into sprint while going turf to dirt; improvement expected. 1A-Kwik E (5-1) likely pacesetter, has run well under disparate circumstances in both lifetime starts. 5-Surprise Daydream (5-2) set pace and stayed well going a mile in debut but turns back with faster set, likely to get out-quicked. 4-Is She Hot (9-5) is in from NY for Rudy.

SIXTH: 6-BOND VIGILANTE (5-1) makes third start off the layup for Chad and won his only start at this hybrid distance; Brown otherworldly 8-for-9 when going sprint to route and back into sprint. 7-RAPID ROUGE (6-1) is a Horse for Course that just missed in rapidly run try at today’s hybrid distance; Carmouche had his choice and lands here.

SEVENTH: 6-MINI COSMO (3-1) is well bred for the added distance, drops from restricted stakes into allowances and Motion is profitable when stretching out off two sprints and adding first-Lasix (27%). 1-Pancakesandbatter (5-2) showed marked improvement stretching out to this distance for Rudy, earning excellent Energy Rating, but spots choice experience on this surface.

EIGHTH: 7-COUSIN STEPHEN (5-2) has had his issues and consequently jumped off the classics trail; makes second start off a brief layup, went well in both local starts, winning beneath Carmouche, back aboard here and blew out rapidly at Belmont Park base. 1A_Prospero (8-1) earns competitive Energy Ratings consistently and was very sharp winning under these conditions last out; makes first start in two months off the Velasquez claim.

NINTH: 2-ONE FOR DON (7-2) exits a series of fast races against tougher sets than he meets here and should benefit from recent first start over the track; barn extremely effective with two-class droppers and LAY-3 scenarios. 8-DENZEL (2-1) comes off top figure score in slop last out; likely to regress.

SUGGESTED ECONOMICAL PLAY: 3.4 with 3 with 6.7 with 6 with 7 with 2.8---$16
