Pearl's Earl

0-7 maiden who hasn't even come close to hitting the board, sporting a top Beyer of 31, is running in the Gr3 Oklahoma Derby tonight at Remington Park.

Good Lord man.

Anyway...I'll give Cagliostro a shot at the mild upset tonight. Good inside stalking trip awaits, maybe he outguns 'em late.
8-1 ML

wow Kirk and Judy Robinson with a sleeper in the for Asmussen.

how did he do that??

well...
you got lots of the kosher salt
plenty of celery seed
black pepper
cayenne pepper
smoked paprika
onion
garlic
oregano
basil
thyme
rosemary
bay leaf

basically like a better version of Old Bay or J.O.

the secret is generous Hungarian Pepper is then added to 'water it down' so it is less harsh/salty & thus suitable for spicing a plate of seafood, or any food or meat.

Old Bay and J.O. for seasoning crabs before steaming.

Ol' Jay for your plate.

Did Red Route One take a bad step nearing the wire? His head dropped about a foot in the final jumps.

Yea, he dipped a bit.
There was contact in deep stretch.
Gallop out was fine. Returned to stand next to winning stablemate after the race.
No visible signs of concern from Jockey or grooms.

nobody cares, but it's PAPRIKA not pepper. Typo

I missed that !

took a long look at him, because of the owners being a top client.

his busy 2yo season + the 23/1 disrespect in the Smarty Jones turned me off.

was considering 5,9 as a duo to use underneath and tossed the 9.

I was too lazy to watch his last three races and to go through the charts and fully handicap him.

His Iowa Derby (and his price today) was good enough to consider as a long shot 'include'. I wouldn't have used him to 'Win'.

Guessing Asmussen wasn't exactly worried about the Stewards Inquiry, but would have been happy to see Kirk and Judy Robinson rewarded with G3 long shot.
