Great Job

Hard to do but mentally just treat it like any other tournament you've done well in.

I qualified a friend to one years ago and had his own ideas how to play and no advice was needed. Needless to say he blew out the entry.

It really is a mental game as well as researching what wins. Usually it is not a handicapping contest where you try to pick a bunch of winners. Picking horses that kind of have a shot and you would never bet to make a living. Picking them at the right price is also important. What that is I wouldn’t know any more because so much has changed.
If you have access to previous contests do some research.

All the best as you get ready for next August! Congratulations!

Knowing your own strengths and weaknesses at the tracks that will be featured in an AUGUST tournament will benefit you. In my past in-person tourney play, August was a rougher month for me because I was not as proficient playing Saratoga and Del Mar as I was playing other tracks in other months - but because I was at a tournament - I still swung hard at them when I probably could have gone around them as much as possible.

Thanks; unfortunately Saratoga and Del Mar are not my strengths as well. Obviously the change in schedule due to covid is understandable. Im a better dirt handicapper than turf and all the qualifying tournaments/contests are heavily weighted towards turf (or so it seems). Beating Mucho Gusto and I loved the La Brea winner got me my seat-both dirt races
