Last Saturday of 2021. I was up at 5:30, at the track at 6:40 and I still got out hustled to my preferred table!😂

Great day ahead.

I'm still good, table is close to the paddock , on the rail of the owners/trainer entrance. Better views of horses and big screen.

Greenwood Cemetery.

I spent an hour in here yesterday. It's huge, I walked In the front , out the back, crossed over to Satatoga State park..

Civil war cemetery. Most of these men died in the battles of Harper Ferry and Shenandoah valley.

A famous infantry that was tasked with bringing Abraham Lincoln's body from D.C. to Illinois.

Drink.

8 am.
Woman crashed the gate , drunk, left half of her front end at the track entrance, they caught her at Stewart's , about half mile away. Last night I guess, NYRA security out here cleaning it up 8 am.

9am

I heard horns, I look out, Sam the Bugler is serenading the neighborhood. He might have had a liquid breakfast maybe. 😂.

You at the Community Court this time Suff? How is it? I heard they tore up the carpets in the rooms that had to be a modest improvement

Yes at CC. dumpy. But cheap. Local guy bought it last year , John Doyle. Small breeder, Doyle Farms, near schuryville I think. He's here everyday working hard, his son In law works the desk daytime.

Centennial Farms.

Don Little owns centennial. I know him a minute, knew his father. His aunt , Patricia Mosley had the #5 Curbstone in the 6th as owner/breeder. Littles and Mosley's are cousins who owned/backed Suffolk Downs. Wealthy Yankees. Polo Player , Olympic 🏅 for polo

Saratoga is probably the only place in the world where you find people dressed like they are going to a wedding or the beach. Nobody feels awkward and judgement is non existent. That is what I love about Saratoga. Thanks for the pics.

But for the cost of living and the tax laws which are brutal to retirees, we had planned on retiring to Upstate NY. Preferably the Saratoga/Glens Falls area.
Saratoga is a beautiful small city. However, with real estate prices doing an impression of a Space X Nine Launch, the city and environs are now out of reach of middle class earners.
