Belmont December 5th???

probably this is the most bs thing I saw today on facebook.

"The latest I heard from a trainer at Finger Lakes is the Wood memorial July 11 th at Belmont Park. Then the Belmont stakes Dec 5th at aqueduct."

I don't think horses would be up for the challenge in -20 degree weather (-4 for usa) and in the snow.

I find that hard to believe that they will run the Derby in September and possibly followed by the Preakness 2 weeks after that, but then run the Belmont in December. WTF?

Coming from unknown people around the thoroughbred community should be second looked at of where they "heard it" from

I have no idea if it is correct or not, but if the Breeders Cup is to hold its date then a Belmont in early December is just about the only time it can be run to have a chance at the better 3yos lining up.

Come on, the average temp on Long Island is just below 50 the first week of December, and races are still carded for the turf until around the 7th, weather permitting. There can be flukes, but it's not as you describe.

There's a better chance of Trump choosing Dilanesp as his running mate in the election this fall than the Belmont being run on December 5.
