I think we lost our Sponsor of this Contest.
But, what the "Hay" .. it is fun to see how we stack up againt the Handicappers that NYRA has.
And Yes ... The True way to figure ROI is:
"It is called Return On Investment or ROI for short.
The ROI shows us exactly how much we are making for every 1 unit invested. In effect it levels the playing field. When using ROI it doesn’t matter whether a selections require more units to bet or if they risk more for their profit."
Officially, ‘return’ means the amount of money including the stake that you get back from your winning bets. If you bet 10$ at odds of 1-1 then your return would be 20$. Of this 20$, 10$ is what you bet (or staked) and you have made a 10$ profit.
Return of Total Bets Made divided by Amount Staked = Gross Return On Investment (GROI)
If you are actually only interested in the Profit your bets have made, and not the return.
Here is that ROI calculation:
Profit Made divided by Amount Staked = Return On Investment (ROI)
But - no change will be made in figuring the $2 Return Gross ROI which was started in the beginning of this Contest.
I am thinking the last contest day will be Sunday April 23rd, 2017 ..

Don't assume we are not still playing "live" until we hear otherwise. I'm in for the duration of this thread either way. The work you are doing in the thread is fantastic LAP 520. I've learned some excellent insight on Aquaduct meetings from this thread and the inner dirt thread. Maybe we can get one of the PH'ers to start firing cap shots. That would be fun, to get a challenge response. (I'll try to prompt one, in fact.)
I've always used the below bolded method for my ROI records. It seems harmless enough to use the *2 here. Stay tuned and keep picking 'em, guys!
