Another Somebeachsomewhere In The Making?

Beach Glass (b,c,2 - Somebeachsomewhere-Im With Her-Bettors Delight) owned, trained and driven by the same connections as Somebeachsomewhere.

Take a look at his debut race and enjoy. Race 4 Sept 20

HARDLY!

from Canadian HOF Bio.
As a 2-year-old in 2007, Somebeachsomewhere won all six of his starts, earning $773,296. Major victories included the Battle of Waterloo, Metro Pace (in the fastest mile ever by a freshman pacer-1:49.3s), Champlain Stakes (in stakes record time) and Nassagaweya. Somebeachsomewhere was voted 2-year-old Pacing Colt of the Year in both the U.S. and Canada, and voted O’Brien Award Horse of the Year in a tie with Tell All.

Hardly you say.

Its kinda late for a 2 year old to start off with his debut race in late Sept probably due to the interruptions in racing due to the Covid pandemic.

In comparison, Somebeachsomewhere started off his career in late July 2007.

Beach Glass is entered to race for his 3rd career start on Thursday October 14. Do not miss it.

Here is a replay of SBSW'S first career start on July 30, 2007. Enjoy.

Beach Glass

9-5 in the morning line, will probably get bet down to 3-5 or less
The big money race is next week and only needs to finish 3rd to qualify in a short field
I'd be very cautious with my wagering $$$ here

Beach Glass suffers 1st defeat of his young career

Race 9 The Meadowlands Oct 22

Watch the race

Leading in the stretch by a comfortable of 2 lengths, I think Paul Macdonnell fell asleep in the sulky at the wire. By contrast David Miller was pushing his horse right down to the wire

I thought for sure that he'd win this race. Based on that second place finish, he does not look like another Somebeachsomewhere. Of course, horses like that don't come around that often.

The Meadowlands Pace July 16, 2022

Beach Glass is even more spectacular as a 3 year old in 2022.

He was 2nd in the million dollar Pepsi North America Cup and now stands a very good chance to win the Meadowlands Pace. He is also the 7/5 morning line choice.

This is the 2nd try for owner/trainer Brent Macgrath in the Meds Pace, the first one of course being Somebeachsomewhere which he lost by a snoz.

It is pertinent to note that Brent Macgrath has parted with driver Paul MacDonald. His new driver is Yannick Gingras.

If ever there is a guy who deserves to win the Meds Pace it is Brent Macgrath.

I really hope he gets the job done with Beach Glass with Gingras driving.

Goodluck to the connections of Beach Glass.

Beach Glass wins the Max Hempt Memorial at Pocono downs

Nice article in Sept 2 issue of HRU about Yannick Gingras' driving strategy which pulled of the victory for Beach Glass in the Hempt. Page 8.
