Never understood the attraction to 'bucks. Always thought their products are overrated and overpriced -- not a great combo for growth.

I seriously doubt that Howard Schultz potentially running for President- and I don't think he even does that- has anything to do with store closings. The business cycle will inevitably turn downwards (that'a why it's called a cycle) and it's always best to leave a party on your own rather than be told to leave.Starbucks is starting to enter the mature point of its American market share. It can still be profitable but rapid growth will have to come from overseas.

I have a great idea for a blockbuster PR stunt: The 'bucks should give away free coffee and donuts to all homeless people who come into their store looking for a handout. That move should send a tingle up every liberal's leg. Business will boom again!

I'm curious, folks. Can some Starbuck customer here tell me, please, what does a cup of their regular, low-end mud go for these days?

That third bathroom must be for eunuchs. For who else could it be? So, what do liberals and eunuchs have in common? Liberals are to society what eunuchs are to procreation. (It might take a lib several days to figure this one out.)

I stopped drinking coffee about 20 years ago, although I will always have my espresso with Sambuca at Christmas. I had no specific reason to stop. I don't miss it.

I'm sure their coffee is good, but at $4 (or whatever) a cup it would have to be incomparable.
