Maybe on the low end but mathematically, it can't for all of them.

I get that the low end is more important.

Jersey will soon offer it.

It’s passed all regulatory and just of matter getting it up to speed.

Getting tracks to sign up.

So far they have

Monmouth
Canterbury
Colonial
Delaware
Emerald
Grants pass
Fairmount (Fanduel)
Lone star
Tampa Bay
Hawthorne

They really want NYRA. Really really bad.

It’s why exchange wagering failed in jersey.

Here a recent link

I am so ready for this.

Here how they do it in Australia. Major completion for the betting buck

How many bookies offering fixed odds for today’s 2nd at Dundalk.

https://www.punters.com.au/odds-comp.../?raceNumber=2

Along with the tote prices offered there also.

At the bottom they have the pct of hold for the books.

Between 27 and 32 for the books

19 for the tote.

That is what I anticipate seeing here.

We all would like fixed odds but in order for it to be sustainable (for the player) it has to be more reasonable like sports betting.

Even at 10-12% players would be thrilled.

But this is just not worth the price of odds not changing.

I did a race with a couple of the UK bookmakers using the odds boards at AtTheRaces.com, and the percentages were more in the 20-22% range (had to calculate them myself).

That surprised me.

I wasn't able to use it because I don't live in NJ, but if I had access to an exchange, I would constantly be making bets through the exchange instead of the parimutuel pools. Exchanges give you a chance to get a better price (I have a friend that used it that often got better prices) and also to book bets instead of going fishing when you don't like a short priced horse but have no real opinion on anyone else. Maybe you'll split your action 50-50, 60-40, 70-30 or whatever depending on where the best value is. I played on an exchange for a short period and my volume was never higher because I had more options.

SP for midweek cheap claimers from an AW circuit are always high because bookmakers protect themselves from the hidden info and pitfalls those type of horses have. SP on the Queen Anne at Royal Ascot was 19% overround and with best prices on the market the overround was around 5%

Ive watched enough price evolutions on punters.com.au for aussie racing and usually books open for overnight/early morning action at like 35% hold to protect themselves but as it gets close to post time it gets down to reasonable levels. Like here was the Cup market prices.
