Maggie tells it like it is!

Kudos to Maggie for calling out Ramon Vasquez's bonehead ride in the 8th at OP today. Even Vic mentioned it in his call. I love her accurate description of the horse having "his face ripped off!"

Ramon ay ?
3-4 years ago I needed Ramon for big size in a P-4 (@ Oaklawn),he had a clear lead at the pole and started looking at the the big screen TV(infield).......while eyeballing the TV,he forgot to finish up on his ride.......got nailed on the wire by an outside runner.
Always remember the bad beats don't ya know.

Tell ya what.
You go through all of Oaklawn's races from 3 or 4 years ago.......look real hard ......pay super close attention to RV rides......and you'll find it.
Knock yourself out.

Few horseplayers wouldn't be able to give the name of the horse and the date under circumstances like that.

I wish every rider rode as hard as he did down the lane. If that's the race he's referring to then his comments are particularly embarrassing.

Yeah, not sure what happened there but he didn't cost the horse the race.

That's incredible recall RR.
I'm in awe of your awareness....I really mean that.
Much respect.
But that wasn't the race I was speaking of.
I wasn't going to give out more information on the ride after the TLG creep post...........but I will say this.
The day I needed Ramon it was a route race, and it wasn't the last leg of the P-4 ......I had the rest of the sequence covered cold(multiple times/including the all button in the last race).........and Ramon was about 7-1.....the public was all over a 3-5 shot....that I also remember clearly.
The thing that I remember most about is was the guy at the OTB standing next to me.........he lost his mind inside the 1/16th pole.......he went ape-shit......knew the guy a bit.......he bet with both hands......he absolutely flipped out.

For some perspective on today's race, that was actually a pretty darn quick pace. The ride may not have given the horse its best chance to win, but he did run second in a 101k Arky bred allowance which isn't too shabby. It probably wasn't a bad ride all things considered. The winner was much the best and fighting him for the lead probably leads to an off the board finish.

There's something very wrong with you.
First of all........everything I've spoke of in this thread is true......and that's a fact.
You don't even know which race I was talking about.
And you sure as hell weren't at the OTB in San Mateo that day.....now were you ?
Secondly:
You know nothing about me.......and more importantly, you know nothing about my betting habit's.
