I was 7. I don't remember much except walking home from St. Mary's Star of the Sea school feeling very sad, and not fully understanding why.

This was under the radar for me but there is another movie out: JFK Revisited: Through the Looking Glass. I haven't seen it yet, but I will watch it eventually.

I've heard that John Wayne and Walter Brennan had a party to celebrate Kennedy's death.

When RN lost one of the closest presidential elections in the history of the United States in 1960, Wayne did not kick dirt over the victorious Kennedy. Instead, in a truly patriotic way, he said, “I didn’t vote for him, but he’s my president, and I hope he does a good job.”

If JFK would have ran for president today he would poll in single digits with Democrats.

"Ask not what your country can do for you...ask what you can do for your country."

That quote would go over like a loud fart in church these days.

Or flip that around and imagine a modern day far-left candidate in 1960, They'd either get shot or forced to retire through public humiliation.

IMO...JFK deserved to get shot for this quote alone. WHOM do we ask in order to find out "what we can do for our country"? The no-good politicians? In JFK we had a president who not only turned the White House into a Whore House...but who also engaged his Attorney General brother in the full-time job of covering up for his (JFK's) sexual escapades. And here he presumes to teach us the "ethics" of patriotism?

"Ask not what we, the "ruling class", can do for you...ask what you can do for us", JFK meant to say...but this wouldn't have sounded as "patriotic". Our "country" doesn't ask for much. It's our politicians who have the insatiable appetite.

You deserve worse, no man deserved to get what he got. I am sorry but I am not the kind of person who wishes evil on someone just because, pathetic would be only the start of describing you.

That's fine. I'm not here to win a popularity contest.

So when JFK walked the earth I as not a republican or a democrat. You cite names like Hitler and Stallin like you know your ass from your elbow, and those who differ from you deserve what you think. Go Away Little Boy.
