I’m not sure what’s going on with him, but he seems to have abandoned the far left that has been dominating the democrat party in recent years and returned to moderation. It’s encouraging to hear someone on the left say things I agree with and things I may disagree with but fully understand as reasonable. That makes compromise possible. You can’t compromise with a looney tune. Hopefully he helps drag democrat politics towards the middle.

There are two kinds of liberals, first are the already dead and they know it so they do not care if this country implodes. The latter are the JFK democrats who are not fond of commies.

Is he the only Liberal in America who reached the precipice of our ridiculous society and realized he needed to stop following the herd? Maybe...... his oratory over the last year or more seem like a wake up call ...........

It is just the have my cake and ice cream too that some fear interruption. Reaching the precipice of a flat tax by too many people like Bill Mahar might be way more attractive that a moving target as your fair share is. Everyone should flood Joseph Manchin III office with calls and texts to kill build back better spending.

Perhaps a rare breed that's no longer willing to swallow the lies,deception, and broad-based hate the left is consumed by. Seems as if he's willing to gamble by risking danger in hopes of redemption and acceptance of a decent minded audience.
Hopefully he succeeds and more will follow.

Deep down in his heart he knows when some old codger whispers their fair share when talking about others he knows whatever he is paying now will become double and that is just the start of it and it will never be enough.

i agree class.

we're all different but it's good to see anyone actually have boundaries and respect them as opposed to just being pulled over the cliff by their "side."

We watched last week's show, first time I've seen it in a few years, although, like many people, I've seen his rants and new rules on youtube.

The show was very good. When Maher said that he's done with Covid (and vented his frustration that his audience has to wear masks, and that he can't have meetings with his staff), his guest, Caitlin Flanagan, who is a liberal columnist for The Atlantic, agreed with him! Caitlin Flanagan also called Terry Mcauliffe a "hack" and said that parents should be upset about CRT that's being taught in many schools. Maher also agreed on that.

So, yes, some liberals are pragmatic about certain things.

Guys like him and Lewis Black were very funny guys who let politics taint their performances. I grew up on Bob Hope who did a lot of political stuff, but he never insulted anyone and never crossed the line. Jay Leno, SNL years ago.
George Bush loved the way Dana Carvey imitated him.

At one point he said he had taken 3 COVID shots, and that he wasn't doing that and wearing a mask. I'll take the shots or I'll wear the mask, but I'm not doing both.
