Can we get a dry track for the Preakness . . .

Forecast Discussion

LONG TERM /TUESDAY THROUGH SATURDAY/...

A cold front will approach the region early Thursday and move through by Thursday evening. The models seem to keep this frontal boundary passage very progressive which indicates that this should be a quick rain event that affects mainly Thursday. Behind the frontal passage on Friday, high pressure builds back into our region through Saturday.

Thanks for the forecast. Maybe we'll finally get a dry track for these big races. Last few years it's been more like mud racing than regular horse racing.

No doubt, this splish splash muddy fast stuff ain't much fun . . . would be nice to see how they can really run on a dry and fast surface. Got my fingers crossed, but it appears it is gonna be a good day there in Baltimore come the Second Jewel - should be good for the City and good for our Sport

Weather is holding . . .

Mostly sunny, with a high near 75.

Mid to upper level ridging takes hold through the weekend as sprawling surface high pressure builds over the Eastern Seaboard. This will deliver mainly dry conditions and well above normal temperatures with highs in the upper 70s to low 80s and overnight lows in upper 50s to lower 60s.

Horse racin' weather . . .

Weekend forecast will not be nearly as warm as GFS suggests. And, since a quasistationary front will be in play, will have PoPs in the database, although they will be low (chance or slight chance) as confidence not at all high. Calm winds, w/45% sky cover; 53% relative humidity; dew point @ 60 - hoss' racin' weather . . .

Mostly sunny, with a high near 76; she is holdin' steady . . .
