if there is, then you would no longer need to worry about class types/conditions, because you could solve the issue with simple regression analysis.

No.

CJ,
I should add that as an employee of DRF, you should be able to get access to the DRF internal system. It has a database of Beyer speed figures by class for every track in the US going back to I think 1993. You just enter the track and date range and it spits out the average Beyer figure and sample size for all the major classes at that track for that time period.
I'm pretty sure you can do the same thing with just the raw fractions and final times also.
So if you had any inkling of looking at the data you could do that.
Beyer also publishes some PARs here: https://promos.drf.com/beyer

Yavapai did not have a turf track, and don't believe it is in the plans for AZD either.

CJ is correct.
Yavapai never had a turf course.
A look at a current satellite image shows a dirt track only.

help needed with Century Mile
Does anyone know the actual distance from the end of the stretch turn to the finish line at CTM? It appears that the turns there are much tighter than most mile tracks, and therefore the stretch appears longer than the "standard" 990 ft. Really, the Google image shows the turns are almost "hairpin" in shape, not at all like other tracks.
Help much appreciated....

You can actually measure stuff like this using Google Earth.

yes, I know, tried it - but Google Earth's imagery of that part of Alberta province is dated 9/29/2015, years before CTM was built. Put in the track address and you get an open field of dirt pretty close to the airport, the track and casino now are on that field of dirt.

I put in the question to somebody that can probably find out. I'll let you know if I hear.

Thanks a lot CJ, the stretch length at CTM is not published, and I spent a lot of time looking. Jockeys and trainers say good things about the track, but for many jocks the long stretch is an adjustment because most of their mounts have been at bullrings. Wow, 1280 ft., the person on a video who said "the quarter pole is almost at the top of the stretch" wasn't kidding. The turns seem to have been copied from Century Downs, which is a 5.5f bullring.

No problem. Want to give full credit, it was racing secretary Rob MacLennan that gave me the information. He's is a great guy, always very helpful.

Thanks, CJ.
I'd actually been wondering about that for some time. Although I've tried a few times over the past three years, I've not been able to find a current satellite image showing the track on Google Earth, Google Maps, or Bing Maps.

Using a web based version of Google Earth earlier today: I was kind of surprised to see Google was still not showing a satellite image of the track - just an empty field from 2015 even though the track has been open for three years now. (Fyi, the thumbnail on the left at the bottom of this post is from Google Earth showing a marker for The Century Mile in the middle of an empty field.)
I did find a site that offers free downloads of Landsat satellite imagery. I was able to (first) get an image of the area surrounding the Edmonton Airport.
From there I zoomed in a little and - and although they didn't seem to have current images of the track - they did have images showing the track (CTM) at various points while it was under construction. (At least that's better than what Google has.)
No tools on the site I used for measuring distances. But if anybody just wants to see the course layout - and maybe get a general idea as to how the elongated straightaways and tightness of the turns might shape race outcomes - click the thumbnail (on the right) below.
