Who should call the breeders cup races?

IMO John Dooley should be the next guy on line to call the breeders cup races.

Is Dave Johnson still calling races? My choice would be him, then...and on a good day, still love Durkin!!

This is a no brainer: Vic Staufer

Vic's by far the best (and most knowledgeable) race caller out there.

Durkin's the best in the country. Plus, he doesn't have any conflict-of-interest issues.

Frank Mirahmadi. I've always enjoyed listening to his calls going back to the south Fla. days.

As a bonus we could be treated to his impersonations of other race callers during some of the undercard races before the BC races. He does a good job with those and they're quite entertaining.

Does Durkins contract with NBC keep him from calling the races on ESPN?

How about an "old-Timers" B.C.?
Jim Hannon,
Marshall Cassady,
Bobby Newman (..and they're NOT gonna get him today)

Yes. The only exception is the Belmont on ABC, because he does the calls for that track.

Always thought that was kinda silly by NBC. I mean they only cover two races a year. Is it that big a deal? There are plenty of network announcers who work for other networks. The one that comes to mind is Dick Enberg, who does tennis for ESPN even though CBS is his main network. And now he's doing Padres games on the radio next year.

That Rodman guy from Maryland is fantastic. My top choice.

Durkin has gotten too full of himself with the calls on Arrrrrrg and Doremi...in NY. Also, he TOTALLY missed the Derby winner. The English CD announcer did not.

Never been a Trevor fan...he tries to pick the winner at the 1/4 pole and focuses on that runner thru the lane. Imagine if Zen hadnt won the Classic, how bad would that call have been? Was it he or Durkin who missed Street Sense in the BC Juv.?

Stauffer is fine with me. Like his style of hitting a hard syllable as the winner hits the wire..."Lava Man...YYYYES!"

Dooley is cool as well. Like his excitement in the lane during close races.
