I'm glad you ask us to pray...we all really appreciate the privilege to assist when trouble comes our way. Because everyone, I mean everyone in this life experiences sorrow, troubles. GOD bless!! No one escapes...

Glad she is back home. Thoughts and prayers are with you, your daughter and your family. Hope she gets her transplant and gets well.

My hope for your daughter, CJ, is that God's graces will shine glowingly upon her and bring her back to good health. Have faith in His love for her!

Tough battles ahead......All good wishes for her ....Is the diagnosis Discoid or Systemic? Fortunately, some people go in for long remissions....Lets hope she is one of them.

Systemic. She has had virtually no let up since diagnosed at 17, and she is now 24. Been brutal for her.

The patients I followed, they found that the Sjogren's was the toughest to take day in day out.

Well, she also has that, but it is nowhere near the problem Lupus is for her at least.
That said, she is an amazing young woman. Despite all her health issues, she graduated Cum Laude from the University of Central Oklahoma this summer.

Been a while so wanted to give everyone an update. I get a lot of private messages asking (which I REALLY appreciate!) My daughter is doing well, but her kidneys have failed. We do home dialysis with her several times a week. It is no fun for any of us, but I can't imagine how hard it is for a 25 year old woman to live this way. Even so, she keeps a great attitude and has a fight in her I could only hope to have. She has recently applied for a job with the local pro sports team, not too hard to figure out, and made it through three rounds of interviews. An email was sent today and I'm nearly sure it means she made it, has one final interview with a VP but reads like she has been selected. Fingers crossed!
All that said, she needs a kidney transplant and I'm first in line to donate. We found out last month I am a match. I have to have some tests Thursday to make sure I'm healthy enough to donate and don't have any undiscovered conditions. There is nothing I want more than to be able to give her a normal life back, so please think good thoughts that all goes well! If it does, transplant will most likely be in early June. Both of my other children are willing donors too, but if I can avoid them having to do it, that makes it a double win for me.
I'll keep everyone updated when I find out my test results!

CJ,
I can't express how hard I'm pulling for y'all. Your daughter is a brave young woman and lucky to have a father like you.
