Big fields extinct at Saratoga.

If I’m correct they’ve had if I include today just one 10 horse field in 5 days of racing this week. Is that a new Saratoga record?

I dont know, thought I saw an article that said purses were good, or maybe it was cash flow, through 2021 at nyra.....once the travel restrictions allow for more mobile movement I would expect things to get back to normal.

Not easy to ship in this year - they are doing good with what they have available.

Anybody know if they are allowing spectators on the premises? I have some vacation time coming up and wanted to try to get up there for a day. Website says no but they aren't always up to date.

I think you nailed the key to it Tom. Once we get this virus thing in the past I'm guessing Toga will get back to normal. But it ain't gonna happen this year.

They are fortunate that for the most part the weather has been very cooperative so far. I don't keep track, but it seems like very few races have been rained off the turf compared to most years or there would have been even more small fields and less handle.

edit: I see ronsmac already brought up the weather.
