There is so much stuff around Seattle that is still open, which means it's considered "essential", it makes a mockery of the stay at home order. Inslee extended the SaH order through May 4, but yesterday when I was out on the road there were at least 3 times as many cars on the road as there were Thursday. People are getting bored and starting to feel like they're having a bogeyman forced on them.

It was only a matter of time before the masses started waking up.
It was basically inevitable.
There is going to be a MASSIVE amount of fallout from this nuking.

It's a much better letter than previous correspondence, and the protocols are excellent.
But horse racing needs to completely drop the "horse welfare" argument. EVERY owner who fails to care for his or her horses commits a crime. "Let us race or the horses get it" is going to come off as very offensive to County officials.

According to TSG chief strategy officer Aidan Butler, an official decision on the matter is expected early next week.
“We walked them through it, and then I presented them the plan. I’m as positive as I think it could be. [Barger] seems very understanding—she wants to work with us,” said Butler, about the meeting. “[Barger is] taking the plan to the doctors that be, and we’re awaiting a decision.”

The protocols are really, really good. A model for what other tracks should be doing.

You don't have a clue what other tracks are doing.
Rarely right but never in doubt.

Wow Andy. You have just decided to repeat the same attack over and over again. The same slogan. What a great representative of NYRA you are being..
And of course your attack is dumb.
I said "this is a good model for other tracks". Obviously that didn't say anything about what other tracks were doing. Just that what SA proposed was good and was a model for other tracks.
You really are letting a personal obsession with me and a desire to discredit me at all costs get far far ahead of not only the facts, but any notion of kindness, respect for other people, or proportion.
You need to take a deep breath, relax, and retire your slogan.

I thought this was a really interesting article from a small publication about life on the backside at SA during covid-19......the workers feel very safe, but of course, somewhat isolated. It seems like they should open racing there to my thinking. Spectatorless to start with of course.
I can't see any reason not to. The same 750 people working there will be there whther they have racing or not

I know if you work at Oaklawn you are wrist banded daily after they take your temperature at entrance, etc. .

It's one thing for backstretch employees that already live on track to make some social distancing adjustments on top of that.
It's another for horsemen that live nearby and come to work everyday that have family responsibilities to stay on track (if that's a requirement). Some workers may have responsibilities at home that won't allow for them to live on track. I wonder how they can handle that?

Not related to SA opening but related to opening gambling venues, Wynn Hotel-Las Vegas, issued their Health and Sanitation proposal for reopening.

You dont have to down load the report, but scroll down to pages 9-11 to see what their plans are for slots, poker, table games, and sports and race books.

I love how they go "every other seat" for blackjack (which is fine) but then says "no specific limitation, expert guidance" with respect to poker.
That's a tell. Social distancing would probably require no poker at all (because chips are passed between players) or at best, shorthanded tables (space between each player).
But they know poker players (especially bad ones) HATE shorthanded games. So they are trying to sneak this by the health regulators.
