Why shouldn't she be allowed to stroll into a store armed with a pickaxe and walk out with whatever she wants without paying?

That's what our brave men and women in uniform have been fighting and dying to protect all these decades

Why would they bother? No charges would get filed against the upstanding citizen and the cops could possibly be charged with assaulting her just by arresting her, This is California after all.

Here's a good story about liberal dystopia to piggyback off JR's.

High-Profile L.A. Crimes Spark Rush for Bullet-Proof Cars, Rolex Replicas and Safe Rooms

https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/ne...ms-1235062227/

Other than these things, life is quite good in dystopian LA.

Why should they bother? From the link provided in the OP

During the first week of December, LA police arrested 14 suspects alleged to have been involved in 11 recent smash-and-grab robberies at stores last month, where nearly $340,000 worth of merchandise was stolen in strikes on an LA Nordstrom, a Lululemon in Studio City, a Fairfax district store, and a CVS pharmacy in South LA.

However, due to city's zero-bail policies, the suspects were all released within hours of being handcuffed and are currently walking the streets while they wait for their cases to go to court.

'If you look at the 14 people arrested, they could have been charged, there could have been bail amounts set, but none of that was done because the district attorney refuses to take a leadership position on this issue,' said Eric Siddall, vice president of the Association of Los Angeles Deputy District Attorneys, during an appearance on Fox News on Monday.

Siddall blamed Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascon office's do-nothing approach to the rampant crime wave currently afflicting cities all across the Golden State

They should bother because this isn't just a shoplifting case. Here we have a maniac who is threatening other customers and employees with a pickaxe...and these people deserve protection. The shoplifter should have been dragged away in handcuffs...regardless of whether or not she would be released hours later.
