Great example of socialism in Seattle - as long as someone ELSE provides the water, lighting, sanitation, food.......other than that, it works great.

My point is that the people who own weapons will rise up and use them against their oppressors. The oppressed are both liberal and conservative.
The oppressors, who also fall into the liberal or conservative camps, will be the victims.
This is what Ray Dalio keeps writing about. He writes about it because it has happened repeatedly throughout history. The U.S. is not immune. Empires rise and fall. Even Rome fell. As economic disparity grows the wealthy become targets. If not the wealthy then it will get blamed on someone. In Europe it was blamed on the Jews in the early 20th century.
Who are the economically disadvantaged people in the U.S. blaming their problems on now? The 1%? Minorities? Immigrants? When it gets bad enough it turns to civil war. It can happen here.

Now that I think about it, the comparison to what's going on now to Nazi Germany in the early days, isn't a bad one...a small, violent, power-hungry group tries to drum up support by playing the blame game for its ills....using terrorism as a tactic...and lots of broken glass lately...
Economically disadvantaged? Prior to this over-hyped "pandemic," jobs were a plenty and people were happy. Minorities were enjoying an employment level unseen at any time prior.
If the "economically disadvantaged" want to blame someone...blame DEMOCRATS (always) and the Media (always always).
Democrats have presided over some of the most economically disadvantaged areas of the nation for DECADES and DECADES. Not ALL economically disadvantaged areas...of course...but MOST...
Bad enough? What is bad enough? Was it "bad enough" only a few short months ago when everyone had a job and everything was humming along?

The Quality of Life is based on an equally weighted average of scores from nine country attributes that relate to quality of life in a country: affordable, a good job market, economically stable, family friendly, income equality, politically stable, safe, well-developed public education system and well-developed public health system.
What social scientists do agree on is that material wealth is not the most important factor in assessing a life lived well. The results of the Quality of Life survey reflect that sensibility.

I've visited 5 of those 6 countries extensively since my employer was Danish. Their quality of life isn't as good as you think or read about in a survey. But they all have some form of socialist capitalism so I can see why you'd favor that. I just know when a loved one becomes very ill, they fly to the US for treatment. The executives grumble that their take home pay is barely more than the common worker due to the progressive tax system. Many streets have cars and vans parked with cameras and if you exceed the speed limit by even 1km, the govt gets more of your money. In germany, one guy had two speeding tickets in the last three years and his daughter was not allowed to be taught how to drive by him. The govt telling a guy how to raise his children. Alcoholism is so prevalent in Sweden that it is a running joke in Scandinavia. The Danes laugh about all the people on park benches in the morning at Tivoli. They are all Swedes sleeping their drunk off.

The only part that has been orchestrated is the generational movement to infiltrate our educational system with socialism. It's probably even too late now to stop it until we are Venezuela and the indoctrinated realize it's all been a mirage. Painful times are ahead unfortunately. The young believe they are "woke" but all I see is "dazed".

Not so sure that it isn't even deeper but that is above my pay grade.
Definitely agree with your assessment.
Meanwhile, the idiots who are walking us towards this final outcome, do so convinced that it is the right thing to do.
Or... convinced that it cannot happen.
It is almost as stupid as saying that "Democratic Socialism" is somehow different than socialism as practiced in the largest of such countries.

The concept that govt can do a better job in managing your own self interests will always puzzle me. It's an impossible thing but many young people believe in it.
I have a stepson going into his junior year at Clemson. He holds a 4.0 GPA. Has absolutely no common sense. Came home one day saying he loves his astronomy professor. The professor got him to realize that there is no God. This same professor says Einstein was wrong about General relativity. I asked him how an astronomy professor with a doctorate couldn't believe in the one theory that shows us how everything in astronomy works!! He didn't have an answer but it didn't dissuade him from believing everything this professor said. Form over substance. It's a crying shame.

U.S health care is great if you can afford it. Your anecdotal account is just that that, anecdotal. And the moron wants to destroy the ACA.
– Healthcare in the US
https://iiph.wordpress.com/discussio...are-in-the-us/
A report of McKinsey and Co. from 2008 found that between 60,000 and 85,000 medical tourists were traveling worldwide for the purpose of receiving in-patient medical care.[74] Some have estimated that 750,000 American medical tourists traveled from the United States to other countries in 2007 (up from 500,000 in 2006).

Hcap....Don't confuse them with something like FACTS...THEY KNOW without EVER directly experiencing these other health care programs, that they are NO GOOD...You will just confuse them.
My experience in the Canadian system lead me to KNOW two things about that one: NO ONE goes bankrupt when they get really ill, and NO ONE is afraid to go to the doctor.
