formula_2002 passed away on October 31, 2023

I was hoping this wasn't the case...however...I noticed today that he hadn't posted since October.

Seeing as I knew who he was since the old Prodigy horse racing board days, I looked him up, and sadly, he passed away on October 31, 2023. He was 86 years old.

Rest in peace Joe. You were an active member here for almost 21 years. And while we didn't see eye-to-eye on many an occasion, I always appreciated your contributions and your never ending quest to find something profitable.

His many interests kept him so incredibly interesting – he was trying new things up to his last day. His greatest gift was his love of family, which was only second to loving his wife, Joyce.

Sad news. We disagreed a lot in OT but you had to respect his resolve.
He came to me as a guy who loved racing and never tired of investigatingn it.

WOW! That is a shocker. I never realized he was that old.

I also shared quite a few controversial banters with him over the years, but they were always respectable. To be honest, in spite of his repetitive commentary about the same topic that he apparently loved to share, I never quite understood how he arrived at many of his conclusions.

I give him credit because of his dedication to his methodology.
I hope he went out a Winner!

It's always sad when we lose one of the esteem Brothers here, especially so when they go back to the Prodigy days.

May his memory be blessed.

Never quite understood his spreadsheets or methodology, but I admired his persistence and dedication to the game. RIP, Formula_2002.

Sad news indeed. I had a number of PMs with him over the years.

RIP Formula Joe.

Amen.

Married for 62 years, a father and grandfather. A reminder that real people lurk behind these screen names and that reality measures our life more than our virtual online existence.
