Is it too soon to give up on the Mets?

What a season.

At least we get to enjoy this year's Mets helping other teams in their playoff pushes. Bruce, Reed, Granderson, Walker. I see even Rene Rivera made some positive contributions for the Cubs.

These players show what might have been if the pitching hadn't evaporated.

Looks like the Phillies have gotten some very interesting bats for next year. They WILL be serious contenders IF they can find some pitching.

If Miami resigns Stanton and gets some pitching, watch out for them too. The future looks bleak again for a while for the Metsies.

In 2014, Stanton signed a 13 year 325 million dollar contract with Miami, the biggest contract given to any athlete in any sport worldwide. He"ll be 38 when it expires, better for the team than ARod or Pulojs who were/will be earning big money past the age of 40.

As for the Amazin's, I will have to start following them more closely since we bought a home in Port St. Lucie, Florida, spring training home of your New York Mets (and two of their minor league affiliates).See tomorrow's stars today! However, I will never turn my back on my beloved Red Sox.

I'm sorry,I meant Stanton staying with the Marlins and not being traded, lots of rumors out there.

I like the kids. I would like to see them stick with Smith and Rosario without buying seasoned position players. I can live with a Cespedes, Lagares, Conforto outfield. Nimmo is a good 4th outfielder. Probably not championship quality next year, but we may be OK in 2019. Time to give up on d'Arnaud?

Unfortunately the "best rotation in baseball" is down to Syndergaard and DeGrom -- and pray for a lot of rain.
