Jud Heathcote, who coached Michigan State (featuring Magic Johnson) to the 1979 title also passed away today.

Maybe those two can do a pick-and-roll when they reach the Pearly Gates.

Massimino took lots of heat -- and extraordinary amount actually -- when he basically destroyed the Big Five series in Philadelphia.

But, truth be told, he was right when he sacrificed the historic and parochial environment of the Palestra and the Big Five for the grander, and way more important national program of Villanova and the Big East.

RIP, Rollie, a truly great coach.

Loved watching games on HBO back in the late 70s from the palestra. Good entertainment.
