Yes trade wars are easy to win, except to losers.
The business and trade 'experts' on here claimed a tax on consumers, price increases, recession, citizens taking to the streets demanding Trump's head, and other disasters for the USA economy.

The Trump administration’s trade policies are not raising prices of goods for U.S. consumers. And the pressure they once were putting on U.S. business profits is now lifting.
Prices for goods in the U.S. fell by half a percentage point in August, two months after tariffs on $200 billion of Chinese imports rose from 10 percent to 25 percent, the Labor Department said Wednesday. Excluding the volatile food, energy, and trade services categories, prices for goods were flat in the month ln a seasonally adjusted basis.
Perhaps more surprisingly, the pressure on business margins for tariffs appears to be lifting. Prices of materials and components for consumer goods have fallen dramatically and business margins have improved, according to the Producer Price Index data released Wednesday. Retailer margins grew by more than 2 percent in August.

Glad to see you back, Reckless... ...However, Trump right now appears to be the loser....Don't push a bad hand as your comeback, China has the leverage, though things might change in the next year.
Don't hold your breath for things to change quickly, they won't, if at all.

China has announced that it will exclude imports of US soybeans, pork and other farm goods from additional trade war tariffs, opening the door for significant purchases of agricultural products.
The official Xinhua News Agency reported on Friday that China’s National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Commerce made the exemption in response to the US’ decision of postpone an increase in the tariff rate on $250 billion of Chinese goods from October 1 to October 15.

China needs the food. Also, China owns Smithfield foods, the largest producer of U.S. pork. China put tariffs on its own agricultural products . I guess they realized their mistake.
China has devalued its currency, prioritized food purchases over raw goods purchases, cut their industrial purchases from Germany and France, hurting the EU economy, and is watching its own economy shrink, while its finacial markets decline.
Tariff wars are easy to win.

[…] Prices for imports from China edged down 0.1 percent in August following decreases of 0.2 percent in both July and June. Import prices from China have not advanced on a monthly basis since ticking up 0.1 percent in May 2018. The price index for imports from China fell 1.6 percent for the year ended in August.
[…] Import prices from the European Union fell 0.2 percent in August and 0.3 percent over the past 12 months.

Yes, it is good to see reckless back after his self-imposed exile. Boxcar tried to carry the mail for him by starting a thread entitled, Open Letter to Sissified Wuses. As much as he tried to channel reckless, he mispelled wusses. Reckless would never to that. Welcome back reckless. Now go get those idiot pansies.

You realize this was in response to Trump's delay right?
The Chinese aren't the ones making demands.
Trump is.

I too am glad to see our friend Reckless posting again, am with Trump 100% on inflecting pain on China. They are hemorrhaging and others are feeling some pain. They have vast numbers of new construction with most not able to afford living in the new buildings. I could care less if they bleed out. I say screw them and no 5G goldmine of our information, and would prefer to see them wiped off the map if they continue to export Fentanyl killing our young.

China produces 80% of key ingredients in American pharmaceutical drugs, from antibiotics to heart medicine to antidepressants....Talk about leverage...
