R.I.P. Jerry Stokes

R.I.P. Jerry-

First a short but sincere note of thanks to those who posted or sent PM messages.

In remmerance of an ole colleague and racing friend Jerry Stokes who's heart and faith was as big as his beloved Texas.

I recall Jerry's Pascal signature core gambling statement:

"I would rather believe there is a God,
and die to find out there isn't, than
believe there isn't a God, and die to
find out there is."

Our prayers go out for a man who ,wire to wire, generously gave back more win, lose or draw......

More on Jerry Stokes!

Jerry was a very good friend of mine... We never got the chance to meet in person.

After conversing on the telephone for many months, we were in agreement to market the book he wrote. 'The Punters Bible.'

I wrote additional copy and the poor man passed away, July 2008.

The last words he told me when coming back from the doctor was... 'Dave, I'm afraid I'm in trouble!' I could sense he was very very sick!

I was touched by what a wonderful man he was. Always generous with his time and sharing his extensive knowledge.

He is Definitely missed!

Jerry was a true original. I spoke with him over the years. He loved life
the horses and his dogs. RIP Jerry - you will never be forgotten.
