For once I agree with you. Except for the part that anyone would be worried about Nikki Haley running for president.

As US Ambassador to the United Nations, Haley must do a considerable amount of entertaining. It would not do to have sheets covering the windows. It would also not do to entertain the Ambassador from Botswana in a third floor walkup.


The questions that remain are; was 57,000 too much to spend on the curtains? And, were the previous curtains in such bad shape that they needed to be replaced? I am willing to stipulate to both. So, no fault to Haley or the Obama administration.

What does the NYT have to fear? The Republicans are dead and buried for another 100 years. This, after we just got over being dead and buried after the 2008 and 2010 elections, which was about 100....err...make that 6-8 years prior to November 2016?

ALL office should be given a pre-set budget that include aLL salaries and perk along with expenses, travel, what not.
And no one gets $1 more - ever.

Tom first you have to understand how other things get funded that are black holes that moneys just get vacuumed into. The funding just for subterranean military complexes is staggering. That is how they get paid for, not to mention some $400 screwdrivers and everything that shows bogus purchase amounts. Trust that Nikki Haley's curtains may have included high tech something not necessarily installed for her or her locations. It is a shell game of money.
