That's not how it works with the kind of prestigious, influential, public appointment Brett Kavanaugh is being considered for.
If there are some grounds to think the candidate has engaged in wrongful activity, the nomination should be withdrawn.
The standard for disqualifying such a candidate are simply NOT AS HIGH as the standards for finding the accused guilty in a criminal trial.
Further, the standards of conduct expected of a Supreme Court Justice are much higher than the standards of conduct expected of an ordinary citizen.
And remember, this is a prestigious, influential, LIFETIME Public appointment, that, once made, cannot be undone.
For these reasons, in the past, Kavanaugh's nomination would have been withdrawn long ago.

But not with the Republican Senate Majority of 2018.
These pigs have no SHAME.

What have I been wrong about?

Was it my early posts on Kavanaugh where I said he seemed like a fine nominee?

Or afterward the sexual assault allegations when I said I don't know what happened nor do I even really care but that has toxic now and we should just nominate someone else?

Where I do a cost benefit of grinding through with this nomination when there are easier softer routes that yield the same benefits?

I'm curious as its become common place around these parts for people to flat out make up shit about what I've ACTUALLY said instead of just hitting copy and paste.
