every once in awhile it is good to remember the significant others (spouses in our life) who PUT UP with our nonsensical obsession.

Cheers to all of them.

Mine doesn't put up with my obsession and puts down most efforts to involve her. Talk about prisoner exchanges, it will take at least three museum/concert visits to get her to accompany me to the Pacific Classic this year. Count your blessings, 46.

Well, as if someone upstairs hated me, the day of the play, it was 78 degrees and sunny in NY.

On Delaware Handicap day, it was 97 degrees, with a heat index of 101

I think I got hosed on the deal.

She introduce me to horse racing. I really got interested after the first time we went to Hollywood Park when she put $2.00 on a horse and it paid 42.00

We were in a Dick Mitchell class where she was the only one to raise her hand after Dick asked if any person would watch the races if we could not bet on the action. (to my other half) maybe more than half

I explained to mine that if I went to the track, I always had a chance to come home with more $$ than I went.
If she went to The Mall, she could never come home with more $$ than she went.
Still did not make any sense to her.

Boy I couldn't do that for going to the Derby and winning tri's on every race. If she asks for you to watch a Desparate Housewives episode - run, or better yet break out the cutlery.

2 things..

1) Desperate Housewives costs me nothing (Versus $240 for front and center tix on Broadway)

2) I don't have to drive through Times Square at 6 pm on Sat night to watch Desperate Housewives.

That's not their goal. They don't just want to watch that crap, they want to force you to sit through it with them.. A diverse form of torture - equivalent to making them sit through a 10 race card

My wife hates me betting on line. She complains that I never take her to the track anymore.
