Have you ever used a racial, sexual or ethnic epithet?

Just curious, I saw a guy was fired for using one a decade or so ago and I was wondering how many here have used one in their lifetime, and if they did and lost their job do you feel it would be appropriate?

In one of my Fictional stories, I had White Boys call a Black boy a Nig(I wrote it just like that, especially since the website I originally sent it to automatically censored the word since I originally put the full six letters) and the White Boys tried to harass another White Boy into calling the Black boy that but the other White Boy refused to call the Black boy that since that was his Friend and he didn't call Blacks that.

I have definitely used all of them, and not just a long time ago but recently.

N word not really, not in a long time. But other ethnic slurs, and especially stuff in jokes, has happened recently.

I guess I am a racist. I never treat anyone poorly but I guess thats not really the standard anymore.

On the other hand, I wonder if the majority of us are all racist/bigots under this very broad definition.

Also, are you exempt from being racist if you are non white? I say this because I have african american family members and non have been afraid to be very, um, colorful with the racial language about other minorities and sexual persuasions. They post stuff on social media all the time about being treated wrong and other racial sterotypes, which I am not saying is wrong of them, just saying it fits with my notion that only white people are considered bigots.

Growing up as a teenager it was very common to use racial and ethnic slurs against each other. There were a lot of fights and battles over perceived and actual slights and to protect each others so called turf. White (mostly Italian in my neck of the woods) vs blacks and also vs Puerto Ricans at that particular time. It was pretty stupid looking back on it but it was a long time ago and we were just kids. Plenty of lumps and bruises on both sides to say the least but in a funny kind of way we kind of respected each other because we fought with our fists most of the time. Like I said, different time, and I never really ever thought of myself as a racist in spite of all that stuff and the things we called each other.
Any of those residual feelings left me as I grew up and also later served in the military. I really always tried to look at people as individuals rather than a part of any racial or ethnic group and not to stereotype. I didn't like it when people did it to me, so I tried not to do it to them. But these things happened a very long time ago.

I agree with this. I just think its universal among different races. Not saying that makes it acceptable, just saying its the reality. I dont know how as a groups of historically different people you overcome it.

Middlesex county, my home, whites are not the majority. I’ve told close black friends & neighbors...you want to own the N WORD? Really?
