Wow. I thought Suffolk Downs was a thing of past.
15% on all bets sounds great.

Suffolk is running three weekends this year: July 9-10, Aug 6-7, and Sep 3-4. It applied to the Massachusetts Gaming Commission for purse money and was granted about $3 million for the 6 days, or about $500,000 per day. The purse money is indirectly funded by the state's lone currently active casino at Plainridge Park, a harness-racing track. Two more casinos have been authorized, with several entities vying for the licenses. Suffolk is trying to get one of the two available gaming licenses.

Yeah, I gotta make it out there. My friend and I were supposed go out there today to play music with our friends from Boston. He is originally from the Boston area. We were going to track tomorrow. Unfortunately, his wife got sick and we won't make the trip. As we age, a good day is one when we can wake up, put our feet on the ground and smile. I was looking forward to the trip but my friends wife needs him home. We will try one of the other weekends.

It's not a track I play, but you can only admire the lower takeout.
Interesting to see how their handle is affected.

Both steeplechase races had casualties. Not a good PR thing for the first two races of the meet. Probably the last time they have those.
