Possibly came out after they went to print, making it very problematic to be up front. Not sure, but seems possible. Someone here surely knows better than me.

It was the front story on the web site early yesterday, so not like it was being avoided.

This take always annoys me. I have no idea why he was entered in the race to debut, but the horse never raced like he was 16K claimer, he won it by 10L. It isn't like the horse had competed at that level and then took off, he was always above that level.
Of course, that isn't to say there weren't enough suggestions with Servis' record to not have doubts about him and the horse.

There's nothing ridiculous about it. It's a rare chance that you move that horse into allowance company, even more rare to win at that level, even more rare to move a $16k claimed through its allowance conditions, and exceedingly rare to win a non-graded stakes with it. Moving from $16k claimed into the KD in less than 6 months and crossing the wire first has astronomical odds against it

To be fair, if you ignored the trainer and his scrupulis reputation wouldnt a developing 3yo be the type of horse that could come out of nowhere and develop into a world class horse? Now we know this wasnt the case. John Henry went from claimer during his 3yo year to star as a 4yo.

No idea why he ran the horse for 16k FIRST TIME OUT
Very strange, and we never got the real story.
Its possible that he couldn't tell how good he was just off workouts.
Juicers are not usually good with FTS to begin with . FACT
But to say he was a 16k claimer EVER, is just plain idiotic. Give that a rest.

My question to Mr. West and Mr. Glass would be how did you know what was going on with this horse, or how did you not know, he worked twice in his life at 5 furlongs in 1:03 and blew out for the biggest race of his career in 54 being 32nd of 32!!!

The claiming tag is one of the many stories on the horse.
Something like that is an interesting thing, but it is not a model that shows a probability of cheating.
You either need a positive drug test, actual knowledge of direct administration, or a rare balance of competent horseplaying and psychology to see cheating.
Only the drug test (or, maybe some big investigation with cooperating witnesses), is able to be used as proof of cheating.

Maybe this would be a good time to suspend the awards for a while.
Seems kind of poor taste to be patting each other on the backs while this BS has gone from track to track, the Derby, and even the richest race in the word.
They could fill the TVG time slot with cartoons....more appropriate.
