He seemed way more coherent than he ever has recently until toward the end. Maybe it was the fact he kept repeating himself made it easier to say his lines. Did they up his meds from the doctors treating his dementia or was he sharing a crack pipe with Hunter right before he spoke? Doesn't a coke high last about 30 minutes?
You know he had nothing to do with designing the background or writing the speech, just the angry delivery under the influence of something. I wonder who wrote that speech?

Of course it isn't necessary, but how much of politics is theater?
The speech was given at Independence National Historical Park in Philly, and it would not be unusual to see it lit up like that on the 4th of July, same as any "patriotic" big city landmark these days. Seems par for the course to be similarly lit for a big presidential speech.

Awful lot of work for a Speech the President himself wound up walking back a lot of.
When the best part of a speech is the Lighting and Imagery (because the contents of the Speech were "redefined" the next day), that is pretty telling.
