and steadily at that. Had a bullet on the 19th. I hope he runs again before the Derby.

wut a stupid game plan they employed.

there was so much money to be made for a contending horse this year because of the way things went down

if the king doesn't finish itm @ the KD it's a major fail

I'm too lazy to dig up the quote but I'm fairly confident Martinez made it clear his dream was to run a horse in the derby. I immediately took that to mean that the owner felt the risk of additional races (other than the Arkansas to secure the derby points, again) was too high to miss a once in a lifetime opportunity - to run in the derby. It's pretty clear this is a defense, and not offense approach.

Still the horse I'd LIKE the see win the most.

he's a stupid ball player that doesn't have care about money because he has a lot of it. it's obv he was worried that if king g might have run poorly or had gotten hurt he wouldn't run in the derby.

He seems pretty good. I liked him in the Ark Derby and he ran well again. He’s capable but you gotta wonder about not racing for months when the top horse has raced and seems to be getting a lot out of each start. Definitely has to step up to be a factor. Horses this good are usually good workers too. No surprise there.

Kind of feel the same way about Gamine in the Oaks . She’s gonna be over bet, has raced, but actually cut back. Meanwhile, after seeing Swiss Skydiver can stalk at a high speed and pounce late going a distance. There may be some value to her if the betting comes out like I think It will .

I know KG is a long shot to win this, but I’m a huge fan of his. I love the connections from top to bottom..starting with Victor Martinez!! I wish this horse and team the best!

I can root for King Guillermo and the connections - but also root AGAINST anyone succeeding in the Derby with this methodology. I want the Derby contenders to race MORE, not LESS. We don't need anyone winning this way.

Once we're past the Derby, I'll be glad to root for King Guillermo again.
