Probably has gone up since then. Woke up to 2.49 this morning (was 2.18 yesterday) and saw a few places that were out.

I hear the nearest Walmart had 2.14. But that was yesterday. Guess it'll just keep going up for awhile. Nothing we can do but hope for the best.
What concerns me as an energy broker is the possibility of NG pricing instability. NG is an element for elect pricing. After Katrina the pricing went thru the roof. If that happen so now, I'm pretty much out of business until it stabilizes.

Wonder where the cheapest state for gas usually is? I have been in 28 of the lower 48 and anytime I took road trips that passed through numerous states New Mexico was always cheapest. I wonder who the current low price leader is?

There are a number of factors that go into the price at the pump but state taxes could be a significant one.
Less expensive gas in New Mexico would make sense since given they have the 45th highest tax rate.

The tragedy in Houston will probably have an immediate affect on gas and oil prices. I was watching CNBC, and for some reason they expected oil prices to go up while gasoline prices go down in the near term.
Don't ask me why. My head hurts when I try to figure this stuff out.

Up about a quarter a gallon here in Michigan, $2.65.
Our area only has one major supplier so we are kinda the whipping post for fluctuations.
Im still blaming Trump though.

$2.49 today - up every day.
I'm driving all over the place to empty my tank so I can fill it up before it goes much higher.

Gas shortage has begun
I found gas at a rural station out in the country. I got a tip they had gas. No gas left to buy in north Houston. Where they do have it, it's now 2.39
People are panicking. Cars running out on the road

Just got back from a 16 day road trip, flew into St Louis and visited 9 states. On my journey to KY my home state. I saw 2 times in Tennessee 1.99 a gallon. Of course that was more than 2 weeks ago.

Poor regulation allows these greedy station owners to boost prices on existing supplies they received before the storm. Of course by now they will have replenished, but its no different than gouging with bottled water or any other necessities.
