I heard it was a mudder-fudder. Remember that song that started "Hello Mudda--Hello Fadda"....
Anyway...had quite a day at Parx today. 3 nice winners, after going cold for a week. That's how it usually happens...after a hot streak--the inevitable losing streak will test your resolve AND bankroll. If you're a winner--it will happen. That losing streak is but a memory--until the NEXT losing streak

That was it! Camp Granada. The only line I remember is the "Mudda/Fadda" part.

Best-Five WOX (before scratches)
That late pick-4 looks tempting...may just use them all, and hope for the best (pretty much what I do anyway):

MONMOUTH 6-26 EXOTIC BETS!
I ALWAYS lose at Monmouth, don't know why. It just doesn't align with my handicapping.
So...the best thing to do...is be a man and spit in Lady Luck's eye, and go for it. I haven't bet this track in 5 years--if I lose my @$$ then I'll see you in another 5 years.

BELMONT TOP POWER 6-27
Was a rather mundane day @ Belmont until...
MEGACITY $86.50 in the 8th. One out of three "ducks" ain't bad at all.

PARX TOP-2 POWER 6-30 *before scratches*
The always-entertaining Top Platinum Power for Parx. I see a couple of "ducks" there--anything in double-digits on the morning line, and a Top Platinum horse, we call "ducks". Nothing to do with the bird--the term is from shooting pool, when you have a straight in "duck" to win it.
Would be nice if one could just kick back and wait for the ducks--if only winning money was so easy.
Many times...especially in maiden races, or tracks just getting started for the season, you may have only 1 or 2 horses having earned a power number. They will be listed as the top-2 power, so you've got to check and be sure at least 2/3 of the entries have power #'s. The 1 or 2 with power #'s will be selected by default--you don't want that. Only takes a minute to check out your "ducks" and see they are worthy of a wager.

Okay....so I'm messing around the house this past weekend, and happened to notice they were cutting down trees in the park at the end of the block. The Parks guy said some were diseased and had to come down.
They were cut in nice sections...and left right there on site for the wood chipper to finish off.
So I get this wild idea to use one of those sections to make a funky, kitschy, 60's sort of outdoor table. Even though there was a sign saying "keep out", I grabbed my hand truck and walked down there and picked a nice stump.
Using a can of stain I had in the garage, I took off (most of) the bark, sanded it down, and slapped the stain on, in two coats.

Now...there is a reason why I posted this. I was looking through one of the online furniture stores....and come across this:
I want to know WHO would pay $3600 for a damn tree stump with some dark stain.
I'll let mine go for a hundred dollars (and that's just because that thing was so freakin' heavy)

Was looking through one of my old horse racing systems books...and came up on something that seems perfectly sensible and clever. Up until you actually check it.
This occurred to me, independently...and probably you, too. It's the "JOCKEY'S ONLY MOUNT" spot play.
Makes perfect sense, right? This very play is in about a dozen spot-play booklets and collections.
All good so far.....except.....IT'S BOGUS! It doesn't work at all. It's been checked, re-checked, and checked again.
What you will quickly find out...is that jockey only has one mount---because he's not a winner--not established--or as Bob D would say: "A complete unknown". He (or she) is 99% of the time, just thankful for the mount.
I guess the moral is...that rider can only get the one mount, that's why he's only on one horse. Check it out--it won't take you long to come to the same conclusion.

Here is another - todays Jock was not the rider in the horse's last race - now look back to the Horse's LAST WIN only and if it is todays Jock play the horse.
I did some checking and you can get some winners -

Along the same lines, bet the horse if the jockey flew in from his/her regular track and his/her record is higher than 15% AND has only 1 or 2 mounts today. They wouldn't waste travel money or time unless this horse or two has a great chance.
