I love cheap sleazy political drama. 
After Trump denied using the term "shithole", Senator Dick Durbin, who was in the meeting, said that Trump used the term repeatedly.
But hey, we know how those Illinois Democrats just make stuff up.

The White House isn't even denying he said it.
But he is a man-child. Probably heard someone use the word on the elevator and since he learned a new one wanted to use it throughout the day.

I have never heard of your definition, nor have I ever seen anyone utter the words in the terms you use.

I agree with your first paragraph. Intelligent people who can increase the level of our society come in all colors and from all regions of the world. He was wrong to single out certain regions, but if it is his belief that we are getting the bottom of the barrel from those countries, then I can understand his comment. We don't know the context in which it was uttered.
He isn't denying it.

If you look at several tweets together, he specifically denies certain things but not the shithole one. Saying that "statements attributed to me are false" does not mean ALL statements made are false.

We all know that it's whatever they can run with. This takes the pressure off of their constant need to make-up more fake news regarding Russia, or Trump's dimentia, or their sudden thought process that they could trust Bannon, if only for a day.
