So do Republican voters. The problem is we cannot afford to take in all the world's poor. Also in large groups, from 3rd world countries those who seek a better life do so at the expense of our citizens. I was born in Southern California and escaped from there 50 years later. That is the greatest example of what massive immigration from 3rd world countries will cause. I watched government taxes, fees, and fines increase by the year, while the overall standard of living decreased at the same rate the government sucking money out of people's pockets went up.
As for as standard of living going down, the spread of street gangs which can be easily monitored by viewing where gang graffiti shows up. Gang graffiti keeps popping up in places it did not exist, even just a half dozen years prior.
Road maintenance gets worse by the year, including a lot of illegal dumping by the roadside and in vacant lots, that is the result of the paperwork hassle and fees to get rid of toxic waste, which decades earlier you could take to the landfill free of charge.
Schools are over crowded as can be which decades ago were financed by property taxes only. They passed a state run lotto in the mid 80's giving half the profits to the schools along with their original property tax money. The schools quickly became overcrowded, even more were built and existing schools expanded.
California has become a high tax shithole & the glaring reason is the flood of illegal immigrants, plain & simple. Anyone who denies that is a liberal who has never experienced it themselves, and eats all the spoon fed crap the liberal media feeds them.
