This is just after a quick glance so I might be wrong but it looks like Noble Indy, Lone Sailor, Hofburg and Free Drop Billy* are the horses without riders and Irad Ortiz and Julien Leparoux are the two biggest names without a mount.
I put the asterisk next to Free Drop Billy because Robby Albarado has ridden him in the past with more success by far than any other jockey and the only time he has ridden Promises Fulifilled was in the Florida Derby disaster and since Dale Romans trains both it just makes sense that he would move Albarado back to Free Drop Billy and look for another rider for Promises Fulfilled. I would love to see either Irad Ortiz or Leparoux end up on Promises Fulfilled both of those guys I think would fit him like a glove.

I would think Ortiz would take the call on Noble for Pletcher as first choice and Hofburg second as his brother has been up on this horse and my have a little knowledge as to his ability.

I think if Irad Ortiz takes the mount on Hofburg than it probably speaks very well for Hofburg because like you said his brother has ridden him up till this point and it most likely means that Jose Ortiz thinks very highly of him.
Now if Jose Ortiz shocks everyone and actually chooses Hofburg over Good Magic than that will really be saying something...

Irad is taking the mount on Hofburg per DRF. His barn doesn’t run in the Derby just to be there. I think he’s dangerous enough to not leave off the trifecta.

Just a odd random fact ...
With 5 defections from the current top 20 ... Steve Asmussen could go from not having a horse in the race to tying TAP with the most horses in the race. He currently has the #21,22,24,25 horses on the list.

i think i would take my shot at one of the horses that has come out of the Arkansas Derby. that looked like the toughest prep race to me.
