Mountaineer 2018 starts May 1st

The 2018 Meet kicks off with a pair of Turf dashes.
Opening night Mountaineer weather looks Boffo!
Big Fields of 10-9-8-9-10-9-10-8-10 before scratches.
As usual the owner/trainer combo of Helms/Clouston
look loaded for bear, with 13 runners in first 8 races.
5th race is key for horizontal bettors, ends early Pick-4
and kicks off the Pick-5 sequence. The one mile MSW
event has ten runners, including four 3YO's.
The 5/2ML fave is #9DateArch, a 4YO that came off
a trainer change and 17-month layoff with a solid 2nd
going the 8F at Mahoning Valley. Curious to see what
Mountainman Mark Patterson thought of the effort.

If you have a smart phone, get the free “Horse Races Now” app and it has the Mountaineer feed.

Beat me to it. I like to watch races on horse race now app. I like mountaineer in house show. Always get some good bits cause they really are up on everything and everyone.

I like to watch others that way also. It works great on tablets.

Same as it ever was. Horses with no prior early speed spring out of the gate and wire the field, race after race.

That's the Finger Lakes syndrome, too. The jockeys should wear party hats, and they should blow little horns and shout "SURPRISE!" when their horse that's never been closer than 5 lengths to the pace in its career goes out and wires the field.

After just one race I don't (yet) have a solid read on the track bias tonight. But after watching the horses navigate the turn and the stretch during the running of race one: I'm guessing the riders must think the rail is dead. (Not a single runner within 20-25 feet of the rail at any point.)

Parker wasn’t there last year either...

Prices will be good as long as fields stay large... once they go to 5-6 horse fields then it can be chalk city

I have to wonder what the thought process is for NOT having your live feed available for FREE to EVERYONE.

People will use it to either bet in real time of toe make future bets.
I would thing making your product available to the largest possible audience would be in your best interests.

Maybe Mark knows?

Anyway, nice to have them back.
Good website there - like night racing, and not the EVD or DED type.
Is HorseplayerNow doing the bet-along night again?
