Lottery craziness - what are the odds???

Yesterday in the NYS Lottery game Take 5, the exact same five numbers were chosen in both the midday and evening drawings.

The lottery has posted a message on their site validating these results.

The odds of getting all five numbers (out of 39) is 576,000 to 1.

The real question is what are the odds for the exact same numbers twice on the same day???

You could play this game for another 100 years and it would probably never happen again.

Maybe 500!

There were no jackpot winners in the Midday drawing and 52 jackpot winners in the evening draw. I find that suspicious.

The odds are wrong in the article. That is the odds of that exact combination coming out twice, not the odds of the same numbers.... which is just the same as the number of combinations
