NYRA bends over P6 players
Their policy is to raise the takeout on carryover days to 24% from 15%.
So, they cancel the last race yesterday and don’t pay out the carryover money. Yet, they still have the balls to keep the takeout @ 24%.
Once again, the bettor gets screwed.

I just heard Matt on TVG complaining on that decision. Sounds pretty screwy to me. He said smething about $31,131....was that the extra takeout amount?

not defending just reporting the facts of that race
the two horses that were alive to the pick 6 was paying over 100K
with the cancelling of the race the payout for all was 50k.
not bad of a payout and not having to sweat a race with one horse or two alive at most.$31131 was the carryover going into the card. So they paid out what ever was bet into minus there takeout and the $31131 carries over into today s card

I think that was the carryover amount.

Uh, since when does the amount of takeout on a pick-6 have anything to do with whether that pick-6 is paid out?
The takeout % in that case is contingent upon whether there is a carryover (going in), not upon whether the carryover is paid out.
The rules were the same when you purchased your tickets as they remain now. How is that "getting screwed" ??
Why is that not Obvious ?

I think it would be fair that if the carryover isn't paid out, the takeout should revert to the lower number. I understand it isn't written that way, but that would be right way to handle it and bad rules should be changed.

Exactly. Write your friendly NYRA executive and lobby for a review. See, what response you receive.

Don't feel bad... I was alive to the favorite for more than $18000 in the pick five. To make matters worse, my offshore book won't even pay out the 3600 for the "all" in the ninth as they consider the wager cancelled...

Ouch…which book do you use? Some of them look like they give healthy rebates.
