just to say something positive, the new announcer at Parx, Griffin, calls a great race and has an easy to listen to sound in his voice.

when he casually mentions '1 MTP...' at Mahoning, they really do mean it
one of the quicker gate crews, relative to other tracks.

My life has changed a lot (for the better) in the last few years and I am grateful for the opportunity at Turf Paradise. I am also lucky I have a great off-season job where they still pay me year round even though I go off to call races (and some other stuff) for half the year!
To Lambo: Thanks for caring, aside from some very painful joints, I am fine now. My golf (and occasionally race calling) are brought to you by the finest vicodin and CBD gummie one can obtain!
Hope everyone is well. If you guys ever make it out to Phoenix, let me know, come and watch a race from the "luxurious" sky box that is the announcers booth and the beer is on me, after!

I wish tracks would get together and reach an agreement on what post time means.
It really hurts simulcast and internet bettors when some tracks start races right on the dot and other tracks start races 4 minutes late.

Maryland announcer Dave Rodman is the best in the game.

Jimmy:
That is very kind and touching of you to say. it is much appreciated.
I struggled years ago as I was very lonely, had no sense of self worth, was thousands of miles from home and I lived in complete fear of nearly everything. It was an incredibly dark and scary place that I was so ashamed of because I could not explain it to others. The more I tried, the more isolating it became and I trusted people I should not have. I now feel I own those experiences and try to help others feeling the same.
I will never be able to give enough thanks to God and to the people in horse racing who believed in me (although some chose to turn their back) when I had no belief in myself or anyone else.
I have just been asked to return to Turf paradise for their next meet that is scheduled for 106 days but I promise I still go to bed every night and ask myself "How can I call the races better, tomorrow?"
Please let me know should you ever visit Phoenix!
Regards,
Craig.

To Be the Best, Listen to the Best
Craig, in all honesty you have a marvelous template at your disposal from Turf Paradise....Just take a few days and listen to the calls of a former TuP announcer, one of the very best---->Luke Kruytbosch

Very true, Randall. With the help of my friend, Vicky Burnham, we designed this before the start of the meet that now lives in the Booth at Turf Paradise and I look at every day. It actually has some of the last set of crayons Luke used at Turf Paradise. This was my tribute to him when I got here

That's lovely. Luke was going places- we knew that when he left the Hollywood Park job for Churchill. He also got some commercial work- Madison Avenue thought he had a voice that sounded like a racecaller's. He was gone way too soon.
Frank Miramahdi, another of your predecessors, paid a wonderful tribute to Luke Kruytbosch at the end of this very funny race call.
