Hey sandy Remember all your posts that said sports wagering will never come to fruition in New Jersey I hope you didn’t bet on that fella!

Tom where have you been for the last seven years while I have been on here discussing...
I haven't read any of them.
No interest in the subject until it became a reality.
Not that much interest now - I'm a horseplayer.
I just don't like my game getting polluted with outside crap.
Big purses = bad racing.

Betting sports will be something you do from home, at the grocery store where you buy your lottery tickets, at newstands......why even conder a track?

Most track would be well advised to take what they can get for the plants and let them become malls and condos.

We already have for too many tracks.

Had Monmouth closed up and gone away, it would affect only a small select segment of the population. Probably, Jersey would have had to allow interstate account wagering, in which case, horseplayers there would be far better off today.
Glad you don’t run racing Tom. You close all the tracks, save for Saratoga, oak lawn , Del Mar, Churchill Downs, Santa Anita and Belmont.

We would be running the Preakness at oaklawn. Lol

Tracks like Monmouth have their place on the food chain.

Where else would pletcher, brown send their second stringers.

As long as they can pay their own way, sure.
Preakness is safe - I love Pimlico!

So Todd Pletcher, the guy who avoids supporting the Preakness like he is being paid not to, is now sending zero horses to support Monmouth biggest day.

Why tracks (outside NY) never take this guy's horses down is beyond me.

His low level claimed win at 1-9 because they lay over the field. The horses put up against them are putrid.

I agree with Allan. It isn't Navarro's fault that he puts the horses in the right spots and the competition is horrible. Monmouth should be embarrassed for the races they have put on, and the public is speaking in droves. Handle has fallen off the cliff. Sure the weather hasn't helped and the comps are bad after having added Thursday and Friday, but my Lord it is horrible. It isn't like Navarro claims for $10k and wins 5 days later for $20k, which from foggy recall is what the old NYRA guys like the Gas Man and Barrera did.

The turf racing (when it stays on ) hasn’t been bad but the dirt racing has been bad.

That said I have made a lot of money betting against the obvious losers at Monmouth this year.

Very formful dirt racing and the procession of odds on favorites.
