I wouldn't wish cancer on anyone.
Hope he makes a full recovery.
Then it's open season again.

Very sad.
A battle looming for him, but he's tough.
My prayers go out to him.

There are MANY cutting edge immune therapies evolving all the time...
A good friend in Vancouver (retired Mountie who worked as security at Hastings Park) had metastatic esophageal cancer, was treated with a brand new immunological target medication and was cancer free for 5 years. It finally stopped working but ten years ago, he would have passed away quickly with that grim diagnosis. He took Herceptin.
from https://www.cancer.gov/about-cancer/.../immunotherapy
Quote: "As part of its normal function, the immune system detects and destroys abnormal cells and most likely prevents or curbs the growth of many cancers. For instance, immune cells are sometimes found in and around tumors. These cells, called tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes or TILs, are a sign that the immune system is responding to the tumor. People whose tumors contain TILs often do better than people whose tumors don’t contain them.
Even though the immune system can prevent or slow cancer growth, cancer cells have ways to avoid destruction by the immune system. For example, cancer cells may:
Have genetic changes that make them less visible to the immune system.
Have proteins on their surface that turn off immune cells.
Change the normal cells around the tumor so they interfere with how the immune system responds to the cancer cells."
These meds are extending lives remarkably and as they get more specific, they may just be able to turn things around in the future.

I can recommend at GREAT book to understand the MAJOR advances in cancer treatment that we all now are living through.
The book is simply fantastic, written over the time of his residency by an oncologist...The previous treatments WELL INTO THE SIXTIES was, at times, barbaric. GREAT BOOK I recommend it highly.

It was shown as a PBS show and I think can still be viewed on line here: https://www.pbs.org/show/story-cance...-all-maladies/

Opinions and politics aside, he is the perfect example a self-made man, living the American dream.
He saw what he wanted and he went out and built it. Yes, Barry, HE built it not you, not the government......and been doing it since the 80s.
He id a lot for our vets, most recently the Betsy Ross flag deal for houses for our vets. Amazing sale volume after only 4 days from idea to product development to sales. And sales continued on.
Ironic that one of his catch phrases was "...my formerly nicotine stained hands...."
Heard the best tribute from Gregg Gutfeld on The 5.
"He bridged the level of conservative thought from William Buckley to the street and everyday people."
God bless him.
We need him.

In February of 2014 I was diagnosed with lung cancer (Adenocarcinoma) in the right lung. The tumor was large but had not yet spread. The gave me two choices. They can cure me by removing the right lung or they can prolong my life with treatments. I had 6 months if I didn’t do either. My answer was simple-I came with two lungs and I’m leaving with two. I started radiation and chemo in March 2014 and my final chemo was in June of 2014. They were scanning me every 3 months and later every 6 months. In July of last year, I was pronounced cured.
Of course, we all hope we never get news like this but it does happen but that does not necessarily mean it will end bad. I was lucky not only for the outcome, but my body handled the treatments with only very mild side effects.
Rush will be OK

Not good news and I wish him well. He was an avid cigar smoker.

How is he horrible?
You may not agree with him, and that is fine.
But to be horrible, you have to DO bad things to people.
Like democrats do.
