Timer Malfunction Race Aqueduct
just a heads up, on NYRA's website today, David Aragona mentioned that the third race at Aqueduct on Nov. 15 had a timer malfunction, and that the race may be as much as a second slower than reported. In today's 5th race, both Indawin and Persisto are the likely favorites. They battled for the lead and finished 2nd and 3rd in that race. According to David, their pace and speed figures have not been adjusted.

After David alerted me, I did wind up adjusting our speed figures for the race.

So, don't use BRIS today!
Would love to see NYRA's long range corrective action plan for numerous mis-timed races. I'm sure they are right on top of it....

It's a good thing David mentioned this because I originally picked the 8 but after making pace and speed adjustments for the slower time, I changed my pick to the 4, who won at 4-1 odds. Thanks David.

Agree, horses from that race didn't look nearly as strong, not only from final time perspective but from a pace perspective too.

At this time, the fractions and final times have been removed from the chart and a note added to the footnotes the race is under review.
This means the Stewards have been asked to have the timing company re-time the race. Updates will be made to the chart (and underlying data) as we know more.
