This is truly sad news. Leslie was fighting diabetes for his entire life and lost a leg to it.

Great band great performer and a hilarious guy.

I saw Mountain at the variety theater in Atlanta a few years back and Leslie told the story about coming to Atlanta as mush as possible to OD on Krispy Kreme donuts. Talk about sugar.

I took me youngest son to see them. He was a fledgling drummer at the time. Corky Laing would toss his drumsticks into the crowd. My son fought the crowd and got two of them. He continued to use those drumsticks straight through his band in college.

RIP Leslie. You battled Heroine and Diabetes, two killers and still was GOAT.

Putting on THEME OR AN IMAGINARY WESTERN in your memory.
------------------------------------------------------------

When the wagons leave the city
For the forest and further on
Painted wagon of the morning
Dusty roads where they've gone
Sometimes travelinī through the darkness
At the summer cominī home
Forcing faces by the wayside
Look as if they hadn't known
All the sad was in their eyes
And the desert thatīs dry
In a country town
Where the map was found
Oh the dancing and the singing
Oh the music when they play
Oh the fire that they saw there
On the grave of no return

Wow, bummer. A great guitarist with a great hard rock voice. I still play the live version of Nantucket Sleighride loud enough for the neighbors to hear (I could actually us a sleigh today).

RIP indeed.

I still listen to Theme From An Imaginary Western a lot because of the dramatic and creative guitar solos. The song was written by Jack Bruce. Leslie was also a terrific rock n roll singer.
