This dude named D, that I grew up with became the proud father of a girl that he called Cathy.
Except that everybody knew that Cathy was a boy.

Every day he would dress Cathy in the prettiest clothing and he took her everywhere.

When Cathy got to be around 10 years old, he refused to wear girls clothing and D had
to buy him boys clothing. Soon after D stopped showing off his little girl.

I forgot what Cathy's real name is, but I know that he grew up as a man, married a woman
and raised a family.

Thank goodness for that little boy that gender changing surgery was not common in the 70s.

I have a cousin in Dallas I haven't spoke with in years who's oldest son decided to be a woman at 43. He didn't inform anyone in the family and most of his friends he had chosen this path. He shows up a year or so later like, "surprise everyone". His mother and siblings were shocked and hurt not only by his sudden appearance, but that he kept it secret.
To make a long story short, he took offense and hasn't spoke to any of them since. He cries on Facebook about mistreatment of transgenders, ect. ect.
In other words he blames everyone else for his unhappiness. It almost appears more a case of mental illness than an identity crisis when hearing others in the family speak of him.

As a doctor, how do you support this?

Never said I did, that is someone else's thing...Only pointed out that the gross definition of sex, anatomically and physiologically, is not simply black and white.

These ZANY new definitions do not get my support

There are exceptions to every rule, and almost nothing is 100% in 100% of the situations. Treat exceptions like exceptions, not as some mainstream problem. Chromosomes define sex. Period. This gender stuff is psychological whether it be neurochemical, bad parenting, or YouTube.

I don't comprehend any of this subject.

Male and female is biological.

Personality traits, masculinity, femininity are fluid.

Some men are more masculine or feminine than average and the same is true for some women. Some men like ballet and some women like guns and hunting. Trying to create a Baskin of Robbins of gender flavors to describe all the ranges seems a bit crazy to me.

Whether you are Clint Eastwood in Dirty Harry or Boy George you are still a man.

It isn't black and white?

Now, I am not a doctor - like Gene Simmons - but I'd say that 99.? percent of the time it is pretty black and white.

But my real question is, "How do you support the PEOPLE who do support this?"

What makes you think I support this?

I never even heard of it until this board.
